Shangri-La Harbin

Superb

The hotel is centrally located in Harbin, not far from all the tourist attractions. Plus, the staff were very kind and helpful. I truly enjoyed my stay.

− There was a bit challenging to find someone speaking English. The limited choice of westernise option for lunch and dinners.

Upscale hotel with charming staff and good facilities. We had a horizon room with club access, definitely worth it. I do have one suggestion. That some benches in the luggage trolley area would be useful in order to put on ice spikes onto our boots for the ice festival. They could damage the flooring if I wore them indoors.

Room was large and well-decorated in typical old-school Shangri-La style. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. ATM Machine in the Lobby which is helpful for international travellers.

− Nearest convenience store is a bit of a walk away - this is inconvenient in a -25 degree winter!

Would stay there again

Great location next to the river and subway station. Breakfast buffet has great choice and good quality.

− Rooms are on the smaller side, but still okay.

I had a room facing the river. Superb view . The buffet breakfast on level one was good with wide selections .

− Towels were not changed although I had put them into the bath tub. Room maid just folded them again ! But so hygienic!!!

Historical hotel next to the river

Nice location along the river. The hotel is a short drive from Sun Island. It is also a short drive to the main tourist spots of Saint Sophia and Zhongyang street. Bedroom was consistent with the photos. Helpful staff.

Location was excellent. Great buffet breakfast. Bruce (customer relations) was amazing. He went above and beyond and was the incredibly helpful across multiple areas. Beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable !

− Hotel is a bit old and dated. Also - if you are a non-smoker - make sure you do not end up on the smoking floor

Strategic location with great hospitality.

It is my first time in Harbin and I would highly recommend Shangri-la. Do note the there are two Shangri-la hotels in Harbin. This one is closer to the city and metro station 上海街 is just across the hotel. The other hotel branch is located at a newer district, large compound but further from city centre. You do get what you pay for with this hotel. Their attention to details is impeccable! Of course, I did come with higher expectations since they are an international hotel chain. Their staff here really showcased great hospitality. Ladies, I really love the hair dryer in the hotel. It is a local brand Laifen which in my opinion better than Dyson. Another small detail feature was the USB charging pot right next to the toilet seat. They also provided alcohol wipes for us to sanitised anything we want. We chose the river view room that is over looking the Ice and Snow world ferris wheel. We got the access to the horizon lounge too. They prepared a telescope at level 15 lounge for us to check out the view. Again, alcohol wipes are provided to sanitizer the lens before using it.
