Excellent accommodation for a safe and comfortable stay in Harbin.
We had stayed at this hotel previously before travelling elsewhere in China. We decided to return for our last night before returning home. The reason we returned here were entirely the friendly staff, the comfortable rooms and the location, close to the restaurants and shops.
As this in an international hotel group there should be at least one English speaking staff member to accommodate non-Chinese speaking guests. We used Google Translate and WeChat to communicate.

Mercure Harbin is in a very central location within walking distance to restaurants, shops, attractions such as the Sophia Church on the next block. We walked down to the ice sculptures in the park 2 blocks away. The staff are very accomodating and will assist you with transport and booking. Ensure you have WeChat and Google Translate as little to no English is spoken.
We had difficulty paying in the beginning as our credit cards would not work even though Booking.com stated that they would be accepted. We ended up paying cash.

My hotel experience was absolutely wonderful. Upon arrival, I was greeted with snacks and tea. The room was new and very clean, equipped with a smart toilet. Throughout my stay, the staff were incredibly friendly. I even received small gifts both at check-in and check-out. Highly recommended!
